South Antrim DUP MP Willie McCrea has revealed to the Billy Wright Inquiry that a government source told him of a threat to the LVF leader's life. McCrea also told the inquiry that he had been visited by Wright in 1991 or 1992 where 'King Rat' told him of his fears that the authorities wished to kill him.
McCrea's platform sharing at a Portadown rally with the senior loyalist in 1996 has been well documented. The latest revelations from the good Reverend will again bring his relationship with the former LVF leader into the spotlight.
